Wow what a night. We got out to the Wolftrap to take in the sounds of the Presidents own Marine Corp Band and enjoy the amazing fireworks. Our group was large enough that we just didn’t want to bother with trying to get a lawn spot for the venue, instead we just camped out in the meadows where the fireworks would be displayed.
There was me, Wendi and her 2 kids, Ellen & Scott with their daughter, the Dinsmore clan, Paul and his 2 sons, Renee & Alex, and Rebecca and her nephew(?). We had a nice picnic, the kids got along well and so did the adults
The music was top notch as always and the fireworks show always leaves me speechless…just wow…WOW!

So today we celebrate Andys first year of law school. Its really just an excuse to get together on the weekend to drink. Somehow I got roped into working the grill, but that just meant easy access to the food.

So living in northern Virginia you kinda get used to all the spanish advertisment signs. We have a very large spanish speaking population here, so its only natural to see these. Well recently I have noticed these signs being vandalized, but today was the first time seeing this sticker. It reads “Illegal Immigration is illegal. Enforce the law.” I think this sticker is just the beginning of a very serious problem that could easily divide our country. Just hope the people in power keep a cool head about them.

Long but good day at the course, headin home now. We had tons of door prizes, pretty much something for everyone (except the two guys who did not check in). I think pretty much everyone had fun and from the looks of it, we will be holding another this fall.

So besides my excellent administrative skills, I am running the putting contest today at the tournament. I did this last year and it is a very relaxing way of spending the day. I basically just hang out at the putting green and give instructions and keep track of who makes it past the qualifying round. Unfortunatly my bud Dave, seen in the photo, did not make it today. Maybe next time.

So today is my Lions club chapters annual spring golf tournament. And when I got up and looked outside I was heartfelt that we would have to cancel due to weather. But by the time of tee off at 8:30 the sun had peaked out and it looks like it will be an okay day.

So this afternoon me, Joe and Talphin bowled in the “I can’t believe its a tournament” tournament. We did this last year and it was a blast. Four games, each different.
First game was 9 pin no-tap. So if you get 9 pins on the first ball it counts as a strike. Bowled my avg, suck.
Second game was log bowling. With 5lb+ pins instead of the normal 3 1/4lb ones. Did okay on this one surprisingly.
Third game, bumper bowling. You have to bounce the ball off the bumpers before hitting the pins. I sucked at this, didn’t even hit 100.
Fourth game, blind bowling. Curtains are across the lanes so you can’t see the pins. Joe did good with quite a few strikes, but I was still proud of myself just cause I got 4 spares…much tougher in my book.
Talphin was surprisingly good, glad he showed up. Sure we will do this again next year.

So this last week we had a tragedy in Fairfax county. Some guy went nuts, drove down to the local police station with a car full-o-guns and started shooting. One officer was killed and another badly injured before they were able to take him down.
Today was the funeral for the fallen officer. They shut down west bound 66, southbound 28 and west bound Dulles toll road for about half an hour for the procession. I have never seen so many police cars, ambulances, fire trucks, and other emergency vehicles in my life. There was also a large number of civilans along the road waving american flags. I hope that she was able to see the emotions that were displayed today.

Driving along the interstate and see a dad and son on the side of the road, with dad shielding son so he can pee, and you lay on your horn scaring them. Heh, he either finished peeing really fast or couldn’t go at all after that.

So tonight we travel to the lovely bar called Bullies. And frankly and all the friggin beer I have drunk I have no idea where we are in the Hampton Roads area, but it is a good place. Good beer even is the waitress is a ditz.

Okay, the pic shows Jen, Jared, me and Josh…yes the 4 J’s were on a rampage tonight. And lord knows we were very critical of our musical guests tonight at this bar. Still we had a good time, even if Josh had to use a Passport to get entry into the place (he was so f’d up last night that he lost his wallet) and Jared drank water all night (damn pussy). So I am back at the house and ready to hit the sack, had to add these comments at the end before sleep prevailed for the night.
