Lots and lots of pretty women in very little clothing. Obviously this made an otherwise hot muggy evening more bareable.
And tonight was the last night for me at the Wolftrap this year. No more monday night concerts so I was released from my resposibilities. I will being out there for all the great music and people watching, but pretty sure I will return next year.

What an ominus message to appear on my cell phone. Usually this is some telemarketer, but I am compelled to answer anyway. Low and behold the caller only speaks spanish and no matter what I say about wrong number, they keep rattling on to me at 100wpm. So of course I hang up. But they call back… 5 times! Finally even after my poor spanish of “No Habla Espanol, Englise?” they keep talking like somehow I will understand them. They finally stop calling and I am happy…that is for about 4 hours, when they start calling again. I dont even answer this time, let voicemail take it…and they are kind enough to leave very short, bursts of spanish. Sigh…lets see how much longer this goes on…

So July is here and our monthly beer bash is in full force. Course this month I am full into my new diet, so I limit myself to one light beer, some good bbq and conversation. My pal Sean found out just a couple of days ago that he is going to India for a month to train some of our software engineers there, he leaves just in a couple of hours. And my old bud Quincy is moving to ABQ with today being his last day at AOL. So perhaps it is good that I did not indulge, I might have gotten all weepy!

Next week is the last week for me and Jen to work at Wolftrap this summer, otherwise the title would have a double meaning.
Tonight was Train and it was a pretty full night. I will miss all of this when the summer finally ends. Not just the great venue and cool music, but also getting to see Jen. Right now we live just far enough apart to where its a full activity to just meet up. So this is the perfect balance of seeing such a good friend and enjoying Wolftrap with someone.

Sometimes you just have to speak from the heart. And sometimes you have to express yourself with spray paint.
Regardless…the statement is true and powerful.

So, making one big trip this year…China. Will be traveling in early October for about 2 weeks. My old pal Mike Welch is getting married and that is all the reason I need to travel to the other side of the world.
So…trip will be about $2k, and if anyone wants to join me just say the word. I am always looking for traveling companions (specially when it will drop the price of rooms and things).

No…not the city…not the rock group…but the musical. That’s where I am today, working the Wolftrap and watching the traveling performance of Chicago. It has Gregory Harrison in the cast, I remember him for years on Trapper John MD.
Luckily I am working in the house today as it is a muggy 96 degrees. So I am enjoying the shade, cool breeze, good music and lots of gorgeous women dancing on stage.

So..you might ask “Gosh Johnny, what do you in Virginia Beach when its raining and you don’t want to go drinking?” Well today I found that the options were pretty slim. So when we spoke to Kari earlier today and found out what she was up to, the die was set.
Yes…today for the first time in my life I played Bingo. The games and time went by fast, and no I did not win, but it was pretty fun. It was quite the sociology experience, glad I did it…but now I am off to burn my clothes to get the cigarette smell out of them.

So the rain finally stopped and Jared was able to take the stage. They performed for 45 min before Josh Turner came on. I am helping with the tshirt and CD sales between taking pictures.

So we have had to retreat to the hotel room due to the rain. The local officials believe it will blow over in about 30 minutes or so. In the mean time Jared’s band strategizes for their set. That’s Jared with his hands on his head.
