Well after dinner I am just ready to crash. And since Kevin got the nice nap on the ride down, he decides a night at the ballpark is in order. I bow out gracefully, so he and Jim head out to see the Braves play the Giants. They only made it to the 7th inning before Jims internal clock started to go also…so now all back at the hotel its time to call it a night

Well…evening came around and after a heated debate with the con personel we got our badges for the weekend. Afterward Kevin crashed in the room, so me and Jim headed down to Trader Vics. This particular Vics is celebrating its 30th anniversary and the 60th anniversary of the Mai Tai. So of course we had to drink a few to toast such memorable occasions.

So after a little rest we hit the Hyatt attrium bar before registration opens. One of the waitresses is kind enough to ask our advice on tape placement for her boobies. So we sit drinking while this lovely young thing adjusts herself.
Seems that the day is off to a good start…until we get to reg. Seems that the nazis in charge want us to enter the huge empty room only from the outside of the hotel, instead of the inside entrance. Normally no big deal but at the moment Tropical Storm Earnesto is blowing and raining like mad. So finally they consent to open the room early but we still have to go outside. So a quick walk in the rain and we come in to get our badges.

So this lovely morning at 2am I picked upJim for the long drive to Atlanta. We got into North Carolina around 5:30 and picked up his old friend Kevin for the ride. The ride down was fairly uneventful and Kevin got to crash in the backseat (lucky bastard).

So part of my trip to VA Beach this weekend was to move a cat. My friends the Landis’s are moving across country soon and the vet feared that their cat Saki might not make the move, she is about 10 years old. So Kelly asked if I would care for Saki… I of course said yes. Saki is one of those great loving cats that everyone wants, so I feel very fortunate in having her as a companion. She is currently making the drive back to Manassas in the car floor between my legs.p

Heh..that title should get you reading.
So here I am at Newport News at a pub called Keagans. Nice Irish place, and one thing I have learned about Irish pubs, usually something nasty happens. Tonight while Jared was playing it was just a very drunk dude about to get into a fight…mackin on the wrong girl. But that obviously has nothing to do with the title but the expressions on Kelly & Jens faces sure do!
So two weeks ago Jared is playing this same venue…and up from the crowd comes this little blonde woman. She asks Jared if she can use the mic, and since he was between sets he said sure. Little did he realise just what she had in mind. She got on the mic and proceeded to tell the audience that she had a talking vagina. She laid down on the stage and asked Jared to hold the mic for her. Course at this point he was pretty much “uh uh” so she just took the mic and said she would hold it herself. She they proceeded to quiff in a certain rythmn to make it sound like a sentence (for those of you not familiar with the term…think fart but only in a way that a woman could do). She then tried to hand the mic back but Jared really didn’t want to touch it. The audience was aghast and just sat there in silence. She then announced that they should be impressed since she was pretty and thin and not ugly and fat (it has been confirmed that she was thin, but the jury is out on the attractiveness). Then she announced that she was sure that everyone in the bar wanted her and she left the stage.
Later she came up to Jared and Jen to tell them that she was a school teacher and had only been with 3 men in her life. Frankly I have no idea what she was on that night, but figure that she had to have a hose placed someplace south to have such a special talent!

I am beginning to wonder if all government offices are designed by the same souless person. So, I am at the visa office for the Chinese Republic here in Washington and frankly it could pass for the DMV just as well. You would think that with their new embrase for tourism they might put some pictures up.

So, yesterday old age bit me in the butt. Okay, so maybe not old age, but definately a clue that my body is not young anymore. About 2 years ago I had a root canal on my rear molar (#19) that didn’t go quite right. And so for the last couple of years I have fought a minor infection on again off again. Well this minor infection finally got bad enough that the dentist said “either the tooth goes, or the infection will spread and you might loose more than just a tooth”. He’s a good egg, so he wasn’t really trying to scare me, but making sure I understood how important it was to get this done.
So today he popped the bad boy out. It was bad enough that it didn’t give any real resistance to his pulling. I was really having a problem with this too…couldn’t sleep the night before at all and when I was in the chair I had a minor anxiety attack. Everything is fine now, but I really felt like it was the end of the world loosing a part of me. And this is a pretty common thing loosing a tooth, I don’t know what kinda basket case I would be if I had lost an appendage.
So…I have been getting plenty of calls from friends over the last week since my company announced that it was laying off about 28% of its work force. I really don’t like talking about work on my blog that much, this is more about me and my experiences…but I have gotten a lot of phone calls. At this time it doesn’t seem to affect my division as we just went through a pretty big “realignment” this past spring. But obviously there are no guarantees in this life. SO I will continue to do my job and make sure my people are happy and make sure my boss is happy. These three things I am pretty good at anyway. Thanks for asking!
So I finally bought my ticket today. I have been shopping around for nearly 2 weeks trying to find the right price and right times for my trip to China. It all came together and I think I got a pretty good deal over all. So excited about going, haven’t had a true adventure in awhile, need to get the juices flowing again!
