New Years Eve and I am at the bowling alley. My bud Joe and his brother Rob invited me to a 9 pin no tap tourney in Winchester. We did okay but Joe cashed with an 812 series so it was a good day over all. No taps are fun though frustrating, since 9 pins count as a strike it is amazing how often you don’t get 9, but only at these tourneys.
So there had been a rumor recently about a Red Fox (no relation to the comedian) running around the grounds at work. While the whole of Reston is this weird Urban/Rural feel to it, what with working farms being less than a couple of miles from like the HQ for Spint or USA Today, it was still odd to us to see a feral creature in the area. Oh we get all the scavengers and tons of Canadian Geese, but this was the first sighting of a carnivor.
Well tonight as I was leaving the parking lot there he was, having just gotten a drink out of the company pond (poor thing) he was heading back across the road to the woods of the U.S. Geological Survey compound.

So Kevin Nealon is having another special this year to honor all the great TV ads put out in 2006. This time around you get the chance to view and vote on all of them though, so if you got some time to waste, there are some pretty good ones out there!

No, I am not being politically correct by that. Fact is that I am fortunate enough to have many friends who are from varied cultures and religious backgrounds. So stop the whining out there, sometimes it is best to just say Happy Holidays!
Hope you have a restful season and a great New Year!

So, I bought my new washer over a month ago at Sears. It was delivered 5 days later and has never worked. After 3 repair trips, 4 techs, and replacing virtually every part connected to the drum (including the drum) it is working. Oh how it is nice to be able to do laundry in my own home again!

Working at my companies HQ here in north VA I see a lot of odd things. But today I saw something old. I can only figure that someone drove this old van (rust and all) down from Columbus for some parts.
I just wonder if they are still the value leader.

So traffic is slow…but that is to be expected at this hour. But when I find the white SUV on the side of the road on an incline I suddenly get a better clue. And then I see the firetruck and EMT vehicle closing in. And what I had originally chalked up to a crappy driver is now quickly evolving into the possibility of someone having a heart attack while driving. Hope things turn out okay.

I can only imagine how this woman must have been hurt in the past. Its one thing to rail against the man who has done you wrong, but its something entirely different to go out and get a personalized license plate that says “Men Lie”!
