Why do you not let developers do presentations? Cause they tend not to think big picture.
So here we have two fine MS employees giving a hands off Vista image install when the younger one started talking about where to find this info. And, being a logical guy he said you Google the info. Well the other guy kinda looked at him surprised and the young one backed up and said "I mean bring up the Microsoft Search".
Heh….just a little Googlfu!
I find myself this morning in Washington DC with several thousand geeks. Or computer nerds if you prefer, lord knows I do.
Today is the big Microsoft launch of its new operating system Windows Vista, and also today is the launch of Office 2007. So MS is throwing a big event at the Hilton with training and seminars. Of course its free…and that is how I even considered coming down here during morning rush hour. Oh and the promise of a free copy of Office 2007 just made it sweeter!
Last weekend its in the upper 60′s and now the high is 30. It seems that this year it took forever to see snow. When the rest of the country, from LA through the plains, is packed with snow and ice but the east coast barely got rain.
It was fun to see all the people spinning around on the snow today. Just a couple of inches and everyone thinks its the ice capades.
So I just finished my third week of the South Beach diet. Things are progressing well. I have kept myself at a very low level of carbohydrate intake and feeling pretty good. But the cravings are starting to hit me. Not for sugar, but for starches. Things like potatoes, corn and things like rice and noodles. The guys at work ordered Chinese tonight…it was tough being there, but I will not waver. Just a long long way to go still!
For all the years I have worked at my company I have not yet met anyone more gung-ho about this place than Paul. Oh sure I got tons of swag and certainly wear the gear when I can, but when Paul came in to our meeting I was astonished.
He had the stocking cap I gave him with the running man on it and a hoodie with the RM right below the neck. When I made a comment about it he ran back to his office for more swag…gotta love that corporate whore!
So I have found the perfect online comic strip. Why is it perfect…well its perfect for me anyway. All about a photographer thats a bit more of a geek than he wants to let on (sound familiar?). This one seems to set the mode for the new year…I am the duck on the right by the way!
