So…after a long drive home, through rain, wind and southern states, we arrived back in VA late Monday night. The last day of the con was really nothing more than packing, one last trip through the dealers rooms and saying goodbyes.
It took me a couple of days to get all the pics put together and up on the web, but they are there now. We had a great group this year and frankly I think it is going to grow even more next year.

Sigh…so not sure what is going on but tonight feelin a little low. Might be blood sugar…but watched the Masquerade from my room this year instead of live. One of the nice things about a show this size is that they have a channel at each hotel where they broadcast various shows and events. Looks like my photos will be a bit thin this year…but no complaints, having a great time!
Caught the Stargate cast panel today. Wow…so funny! These guys were a bit tight the first day, but by Sunday afternoon they all had some adult beverage and were letting each other have it. That family kind of raunch you get with close friends. Good times!

So its the DragonCon charity auction and Kevin is up auction stuff from his closet at home. I really do belive he just dumps some boxes from storage and brings it to Atlanta to auction off. And there are all these rabid women in here that will pay anything for an item that Hercules wore/touched.
Some things that sold: an architectural drawing from the show Andromeda for $265 and a poster from Hercules for $115…plus much more. But you can tell the money is not here like last year. He sold a pair of boxer shorts for around $500 and a Planet Hollywood jacket for $3000.

Up nice and early to catch the charity auction here at the show. Course it just goes to show that if I get up early for something, it will be postponed. So now kicking back with Jim and breakfast waiting for the great Kevin Sorbo to drag himself outta bed.
So…how to talk about this evening. Obviously we were on our perch at the Hyatt…crowd watching. Perhaps some adult beverages…then the trouble came.
So there was this comedy sendup of a superhero porn movie called Orgasmo. And here came two of the characters up to our perch. Next I know Kevin is molesting one and then Andy is molested.
Well…should make an interesting story for the grandkids.

Once again into the breach dear friends. Even though I love my autograph collection, sometimes those lines are just stupid long. And over the years I keep seeing the stars charge more and more for their stuff. So my convention allowance gets directed to that vice everytime.
Today I got from Firefly: Summer Glau (River) and Alan Tudyk (Wash), and from the new Battlestar Galactica: James Callis (Baltar) and Aaron Douglas (Chief Galen).

Ahhh…everyone loves a parade, and DragonCon has a great one. All kinds of people come out to watch the show, convention goers as well as mundanes. I am only posting a couple of photos now, but will have the photo gallery up next week!

Early Saturday and the world is hazy. Luckily my head is not as bad as the low lying clouds.
So it seems that the Hilton has a continental breakfast for the executive level floor. Now, we may not be paying for a suite…but I have always had the opinion that all customers should be treated as VIPs. So, as a VIP I helped myself to free breakfast…and it was tasty!

One of my favorite spots at the con is the second floor of the Hyatt. You have the con suite conveniently located for when you need a snack or soft drinks (aka mixers) and you are perched over the main lobby. The lobby is where all the costumers come out to show off their outfits and characters. Me and Kevin were up there tonight for about 3 hours either oggling the ladies or critiquing the costumes. Some of these folks do a great job and deserve a lot of credit. And some…well it is good that they have such a good self image for trying out these clothes. What I am saddened about is the fact that none of their friends point out to them that they just can’t pull off the mid-drift catholic school girl outfit. You don’t have to be mean, and being a man of size I certainly wouldn’t be, but don’t let these people outta the house dressed like that.
Now I am not including any examples here, but when I get back I will have a photo album that will include some "Not ready for primetime players". In the meantime here is a balcony shot of a 7 foot tall wookie and someone dressed as an 20 sided die.
