So another polar plunge is over. We are all tired, kinda cold and ready to relax. Jared brought his guitar out and sang for us, great end to a great day.

We get out of the water and start heading back to the rescue squad hq. We couldn’t get a ride in the ambulance this time, they had picked up one of the plungers who may have had a heart attack. Man in his late 20′s who upon hitting the water had a tightness in his chest and he threw up (glad he went in after me). He seemed okay but they took him to the hospital to be sure.
So instead we rode back in the back of one of the Rescue 14′s pickups. I think Jenny thought she was a prom queen the way she was waving. And Summer almost lost her wig.

Finally the cannon is fired and we all rush into the freezing water. Let me tell ya, even though it is supposed to be warmer this year than last…that water was COLD!!!
I gave the camera to Jared after he came back out, but the only shot he got of me was my head bobbing in the water. Hopefully someone else got a better picture.

Here we stand on the cold sand ready to go. Lord it seemed to take forever to have them let us go. Our special guest this year was Curly from the Harlem Globetrotters, you can see him spinning the ball in the second picture.

So the tent is packed this year. More costume entries than ever before. Its also going to be the largest plunge in the 14 years its been going on.
The International Team of Mystery did not win this year, but easily took 2nd place.

So just like last year we all pile into the back of one of the Rescue 14′s ambulances. Stuffing probably more people than we should have…but it sure is fun.

So the day has come and we are at Christy’s condo. She has this awesome place right on the beach. Everyone is getting their costumes ready and the mimosas are flowing freely.

So I made it down to the beach and got all signed up for the polar plunge tomorrow. Now me and Kelly are drinking the afternoon away at a local irish pub.
